What would Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan do about the current state of the Republican Party?
Read the Conservative Declaration of Independence to find out!
Liberal Republicans have had their way for the past eight years and they have made a terrible mess of the Republican Party. They have squandered the Goldwater/Reagan/Gingrich conservative movement contributions of 1964, 1980 and 1994 in their brief tenure at the helm of American government. Their failed, flawed and earmarked vision has delivered America to what promises to be its biggest dose of socialism since the Roosevelt New Deal era.
And now, in the aftermath, the time is nigh for conservatives to chart a course for the Republican ship of state back into the warm waters of liberty and free-enterprise. It is also time to tell the Republican Party that it can no longer view the Party registration form we filled out and signed as a blank check on our votes. The current state of the Republican Party is similar to what it was nearly a half century ago. The call to action then came from Senator Barry Goldwater when he declined the nomination for president at the 1960 Republican Convention, saying "Let's grow up, conservatives! We want to take this party back, and I think someday we can. Let's get to work."
January 2, 2009 is the Centennial of Barry Goldwater's birth. It is fitting and proper that conservatives all across America repeat what he did in 1964 -- take Party control away from liberals and reestablish the Party's fundamental principles as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness unhindered by oppressive government. You can help make this happen by reading the Conservative Declaration of Independence and signing it. Also, take the time to join conservative groups like the Club for Growth and the Senate Conservatives Fund that have effectively declared their independence from current Republican Party leadership.
Please take a little time to examine the contents of this site. If you like what you read, please add your name to the list of signers. We will present the declaration to Republican Party leaders on January 2, 2009.
