Capitalism
- You have a right to live it as you choose, to follow your bliss. You have a right to seek satisfaction in accomplishment. And if you chase after the almighty dollar, you just might find that you are led, as if by an invisible hand, to do things that improve the lives of others. -David Boaz
- I think all the world would gain by setting commerce at perfect liberty. -Thomas Jefferson
- Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Allow him to sell his fish and use the proceeds to make life better for himself and his family, and you build a civilization. -Richard Viguerie
- Beware the man who claims that wealth is accumulated through the use of unethical, unprincipled actions. He is giving you a view into his own character and how he would seek to acquire wealth. He is almost certainly one who worships the cliché “money is the root of all evil.” He seeks to make wealth a scourge rather than the badge of honor that it so often is. -David C. Wilcox

Character
- The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men. -Samuel Adams
- Liars when they speak the truth are not believed. -Aristotle
- Character is the single most important ingredient of leadership. -Gen. H. Norman Schwartzkopf
- If treachery and deceit were superior to honesty and character, why have champions of such techniques like Hitler failed? -David C. Wilcox

Education
- I believe that what is wrong with our schools in this nation is that they have become unionized in the worst possible way. This unionization and lifetime employment of K-12 teachers is off-the-charts crazy... What kind of person could you get to run a small business if you told them that when they came in they couldn’t get rid of people that they thought weren’t any good? Not really great ones because if you’re really smart you go, ‘I can’t win’. -Steve Jobs
- One of these days they are going to remove so much of the 'hooey' and the thousands of things the schools have become clogged up with, and we will find that we can educate our broods for about one-tenth of the price and learn 'em something that they might accidentally use after they escape. -Will Rogers
- [T]he power to educate is the power to indroctrinate. - Richard A. Viguerie

Energy
- The consistent policy of the Democratic Party, going back at least to Jimmy Carter, has been to jack up gas prices so we can all start pedaling around on tricycles. -Ann Coulter
- It's good to know that in the middle of a crisis, the Democrats are still liars. As long as we're fantasizing about "alternative" energy sources, what we really need is a car that runs on Democrats' lies. -Ann Coulter
- The simple truth is that opponents of drilling want you to change your behavior. They want you to give up using oil so that you can live according to their environmental morality. That is the hallmark of a command economy, i.e., a socialist economy wherein government makes economic decisions such as who has a right to have product demands and who gets supply. -Thomas Del Deccaro
- America remains the only nation in the world that has curtailed access to its own energy supplies. Meanwhile, China will soon begin drilling for oil off Cuba and in Venezuela. -Pete duPont
- The problem isn’t a shortage of fuel; it’s a surplus of government. -Ronald Reagan
- If corporate `greed' is the explanation for high gasoline prices, why are the government's taxes not an even bigger sign of `greed' on the part of politicians - since taxes add more to the price of gasoline than oil company profits do?
Whatever the merits or demerits of Senator John McCain's proposal to temporarily suspend the federal taxes on gasoline, it would certainly lower the price more than confiscating all the oil companies' profits. -Thomas Sowell
- [T]he government of the United States restricts pretty much every form of energy production other than the bizarre fetish du jour of federally mandated ethanol production. -Mark Steyn

Equality
- Democracy and socialism both seek equality. Democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude. -Alexis de Tocqueville

Global Warming
- Like their [communist] predecessors, climate-change alarmists will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality. In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat—this time, in the name of the planet.” -Czech President Vaclav Klaus
- Freeze or fry, the problem is always industrial capitalism, and the solution is always international socialism. -Malcolm Ross, Harvard
- Even though there has never been a single scientific paper published that has ruled out natural variability for most of the warming we've seen since 1850, Big Science has managed to convince politicians and much of the public that the science is settled. Apparently, our addition of nine molecules of carbon dioxide to each 100,000 molecules of air over the last 150 years can now be blamed for anything and everything we choose. Hurricanes, tornadoes, heat waves, floods, glaciers flowing toward the sea...all of these used to happen naturally, but no more. -Roy W. Spencer, Global Hydrology and Climate Center

Government Spending
- When you spread food out on a picnic table, you can expect ants. When you put $3 trillion on the table, you can expect special interests, lobbyists and pork-barrel politicians. As long as the federal government has so much money and power to hand out, we'll never get rid of the Abramoffs. Restrictions on lobbying deal with symptoms, not causes. -David Boaz
- In the private sector, incompetent performance generally means lost business, reduced earnings, or even bankruptcy. Only in the public sector-under Democrats and Republicans both-are negligence and failure commonly rewarded with ever-increasing budgets. -Jeff Jacoby
- We’ve long thought there are two things in Washington that are unbalanced-the budget and the liberals. -Ronald Reagan
- Congress is spending us into a hole. We hear about the cost of earmarks and the Iraq war. But what about ‘entitlements’? That’s the government’s ironic term for programs that transfer money from people who earned it to people who didn’t. Entitlement? How can you be entitled to someone else’s money?” -John Stossel
- Like a drug addict who focuses all his energy on scoring his next fix with no regard for the long-term consequences, the GOP majority in Congress is on a spending bender that may ultimately lead it to hit rock bottom as the minority party. The only way to stop it is for...economic conservatives to stop looking the other way in the interest of harmony and take action... -Pat Toomey
- Our nation cannot continue indefinitely to spend indiscriminantly and lay the cost on our children and grandchildren. This is political child abuse. - Richard A. Viguerie

Gun Control
- The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. -Samuel Adams
- Folks worry over the Second Amendment when they fear the First isn't working. -John Chambers
- Since the Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, if gun control advocates were honest, they would call their crusade "Bill of Rights Control." -John Chambers

- Having discovered that "gun control" fails to resonate with Americans, liberals have introduced "gun safety" as a sanitized, focus-group tested replacement. -Rush Limbaugh
- When we hear about rent control or gun control, we may think about rent or guns but the word that really matters is "control." That is what the political left is all about, as you can see by the incessant creation of new restrictions in places where they are strongly entrenched in power, such as San Francisco or New York. -Thomas Sowell
- Gun control laws will not protect us from murderers. We need protection from the criminal justice system politicians have created. -Walter Williams
- If guns cause crime, then cotton caused slavery. -Jeffrey Lynn Woodrum

Illegal Immigration
- Entry into this country-either as an immigrant or a visitor-is a privilege, not a right. The safety of our citizens must come before the comfort and convenience of foreigners. -Michelle Malkin
- Whose problem is the immigration bill in Congress supposed to solve? The country’s problem with dangerously porous borders? The illegal immigrants’ problem? Or politicians’ problems? -Thomas Sowell
- Compromise is incessantly praised, and has produced the proposed immigration legislation. But compromise is the mother of complexity, which, regarding immigration, virtually guarantees-as the public understands-weak enforcement and noncompliance. -George Will

Liberalism
- I am for socialism, disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself.... I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal. -Roger Baldwin, Founder, ACLU
- Liberals, it has been said, are generous with other peoples’ money, except when it comes to questions of national survival when they prefer to be generous with other people’s freedom and security. -William F. Buckley, Jr.
- The Left...views the world not as a conflict between good and evil but between white and black, male and female, and rich and poor... As a general proposition, subject to exceptions that accompany all generalizations, the Left has considerably more compassion for groups (racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and sexual groups it favors) than for individuals. -Dennis Prager
- The difference between a welfare state and a totalitarian state is a matter of time. -Ayn Rand
- [A]side from Osama bin Laden and his crew of merciless killers, the people most dedicated to seeing the United States defeated in a battle for the future of the world are the liberal Democrats now feebly trying to run the Congress. You really have to hate America and its people to lust after the defeat of your own country. -Michael Reagan
- The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. -Theodore Roosevelt
- Liberalism isn't a political philosophy. It's a vile combination of sickness and evil. -Rabbi Mayer Schiller
- The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. -Norman Thomas
- Freedom isn't free - does that mean liberals are too cheap to pay the price? -David C. Wilcox
- Labor union leadership and the Republican Party have something in common. Both are out of step, and far more liberal, than their rank-and-file members. - David C. Wilcox
- Liberals thrive on their own WMDs - weapons of mass deception. -David C. Wilcox
- Liberalism is apparently a racial trait. Opposing liberal policies so often brings out charges of racism. -David C. Wilcox
- Just how does American liberalism differ from a cult? -David C. Wilcox
- The greatest threat to mankind’s prosperity is government. A recent example is Zimbabwe’s increasing misery. Like our country, Zimbabwe had a flourishing agriculture sector, so much so it was called the breadbasket of southern Africa. Today, its people are on the brink of starvation as a result of its government. It’s the same story in many countries—government interference with mankind’s natural tendency to engage in wealth-producing activities. Blaming poverty on overpopulation not only lets governments off the hook; it encourages the enactment of harmful policies.” -Walter Williams

Monopoly
- To protect the U. S. Postal Service's monopoly on delivery of first-class mail, federal law requires competitors to charge double what the USPS charges. A better plan would be to follow New Zealand's example...sell the Postal Service, use the money received to pay off some of the National Debt, and let companies like UPS and FedEx reduce the cost of a first-class letter to the estimate based on a recent Cato Institute study...18 cents. -David C. Wilcox

- A leader stands behind his principles and is willing to take chances. A follower is one who “goes with the flow” and seeks “consensus.” -David C. Wilcox

Taxes
- The collection of taxes which are not absolutely required, which do not beyond reasonable doubt contribute to the public welfare, is only a species of legalized larceny. The wise and correct course to follow in taxation is not to destroy those who have already secured success, but to create conditions under which everyone will have a better chance to be successful. -Calvin Coolidge

- California's Proposition 13: the tax and spender's unlucky number. -David C. Wilcox
- Since the Laffer curve shows that tax revenues decrease when the maximum marginal tax rate increases above its optimum level of about 22%, we should ask how liberals plan to pay for their proposed tax hikes. -David C. Wilcox

Terrorism
- Democrats believe in immediate withdrawal from Iraq. If they succeed in forcing us to leave under these circumstances, the United States will suffer a stinging defeat in the war on terror. The terrorists already believe that they drove the Russians from Afghanistan and Israel from Lebanon and Gaza. They are convinced they chased us out of Lebanon in 1983 and from Somalia in 1993. According to Osama bin Laden and those who share his views, we are militarily strong but psychologically and spiritually weak. Like it or not-and no one likes it-we cannot leave Iraq now without utterly and decisively validating this analysis. We might as well run a white flag up the flagpole at the Capitol. -Mona Charen
- The Muslims bring fervor and conviction to the struggle; we don’t. The Muslims are self-assured in the rightness of their cause; we answer with self-denigration and self-debasement. Muslims prize loyalty and discipline; we prize politically correct multiculturalism. -Suzanne Fields
- If we deem ourselves too smart, too moral, or too soft to stop killers, then...we have become real accomplices to evil through inaction. -Victor D. Hanson, Cal State Fresno
- Bottom line: This war will be won or lost on the battlefront at home-and right now the Democratic Party is a big part of the problem. -David Horowitz
- Why would Al Qaeda choose the past several days, just as Democrats in Congress were voting to run up a white flag and commit the United States to defeat in Iraq, to launch a bloody wave of terrorist atrocities?... The answer... is that this is how totalitarian aggressors react to faintheartedness... The smell of irresolution doesn’t satiate the totalitarians’ appetite; it makes it keener. -Jeff Jacoby
- In Middle Eastern warfare a classic tactic has been to retreat in the face of strength, but to attack when your enemy withdraws or shows signs of weakness. -Ralph Peters
- Liberal pacifist slogan of the 1950s: "Better red than dead." Liberal pacifist slogan of 2008: "Better look to Mecca than stick out you necka." -David C. Wilcox
